Comment: This coinage of Brutus is one of the first Greek ones, prior to those with the title of Imperator. It is assumed, from the lira on the reverse, that this coin was minted in Apollonia. Brutus, after assassinating Caesar, headed to Greece, Julius Caesar himself granted him the government of said province before being assassinated. The senate, after Caesar's death, gave the province to Mark Antony, who gave it to his brother Gaius Antony, who was murdered by Brutus.
