Comment: The author of this denarius reminds us of his relationship with the five-time Consul Claudius Marcus Marcellus. Famous character who ended, with his own hands, the life of a Gallic King named Viridomar and whose loot was transferred to the temple of Jupiter Feretrius. The lashing behind the bust on the obverse takes us back to the capture of Syracuse carried out by said character. The emperor Trajan restored this denarius in his policy of remembering the great glorious deeds.
