Comment: The Aemilia family is one of the oldest and most illustrious in Rome, its origin being Sabine. There are various theories regarding the interpretation of the obverse, one of which is supposed to refer to the Aemilia Bridge, which was initially built of wood and was later changed to a stone one by a member of the Aemilia family.
