Comment: The moneyer man Lucius Livineius Regulo, active in the year 42 BC, dedicated this issue to his ancestor of the same name, who had held the praetorship in a previous era. With this portrait he wanted to exalt the political and moral heritage of his lineage, linking it to the defense of traditional republican institutions.
The curule chair and the fasces evoke legitimate magistracy, justice and public authority, symbols that took on a deep meaning in a context dominated by the struggles of the Second Triumvirate and the decline of the Republic.

Altogether, the denarius celebrates family continuity, civic virtue, and republican legitimacy, values that the Livineii claimed in a Roma that was moving toward imperial power.
