Comment: Aulus Postumius Albus was an ancient hero of the early Roman Republic, remembered for his role in the Battle of Lake Regilus, one of Roma's first great victories after the expulsion of the kings.
According to tradition, as dictator or consul, he led Roman troops against the exiled Latins and Tarquinians, who were trying to restore the monarchy.
During the battle, the Dioscuri (Castor and Pollux) were said to have appeared on the field to aid the Romans, giving rise to the cult of these divine twins in Rome.
