Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus / Gnaeus Calpurnius Piso
Cneo Pompeius Magnus / Cneo Calpurnius Piso

Gens: Calpurnia / Pompeia
Moneyer: Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus / Gnaeus Calpurnius Piso
Date and mint: 49 BC - ?

Obverse: Bearded Bust of Numa, right, diadem inscribed NVMA. Linear border.
Legend: CN PISO PRO Q

Reverse: Bow, right. Linear border.
Legend: MAGN PRO COS

Comment: The bust of Numa on the obverse is due to the fact that the Gens Calpurnia sought to descend from this character through his son Calpus. The reverse is a clear allegory to the Pompeian side and reminds us of Pompey's naval victories. Banti and Simonetti suggest that the mint could be Ilerda
