Comment: The reverse alludes to an ancestor of the magistrate named Lucius Cassius Longinus, who, as praetor, reviewed a trial after it had already been closed. The initials A.C Absolvo, Condemno refer to the right of the Roman people to acquit or condemn if the result of the trial was believed to have been erroneous.
