Comment: Among the many functions of Hercules is also that of protecting Music (hercules Musarum). The Circus Maximus was consecrated to Hercules and the Ludis Plebeii were celebrated there, in the month of November, in honor of Peace and reconciliation. So the motifs that appear on this denarius must be related to the festivals.
