Comment: The Portia family was of plebeian origin and gave the republic very important members, such as Cato the elder and Cato of Utica. The author of this denarius C. Porcius Cato became governor of Macedonia. He retired to reside in Tarraco until the rest of his days. Cicero mentions him in his writings as a great orator.
