Comment: The author of this denarius is L. Opeimius is the one who confronted Fregellae, becoming head of the aristocratic party. He was considered one of the toughest characters in the senate due to his confrontations with Gracchus, for which he had to justify himself before the judges. He supported Jugurtha and this led to his banishment.
